Most people design nurseries when they find out they're expecting, we are not most people. I mean we kind of did that with David I suppose. As much as you can do in an old two bedroom apartment where your "nursery" is also the storage room. ;) But we did buy a crib (and filled it with a variety of fox stuffed animals), and hung bookshelves on the wall. In true second baby fashion, we didn't do any of that with Eden. I mean we thought about it but we knew from experience Eden wouldn't even be in her own space until she was around a year, so why waste a bedroom.
About a week ago though, we decided to head out to ikea and purchase her a crib. I had a vision in my head of a little space for her in our room, and seeing it come to life this past week was so fun! Don't be fooled though, she doesn't actually spend the night in her crib. We do nap her in it, and she does spend the first part of the night in there, but I grab her and bring her to bed with me when I get into bed. We bed shared with David until he was 11 months and plan to do the same with her, unless she starts showing cues of wanting her space before that! I'm SO thankful that our room has the space to have her crib in there while still not crowding our bed or anything! It's a huge difference from our apartment.
I chose her crib sheet (Oh Joy! Collection from Target) and the artwork (also from Target) based on the blanket that Alyssa from Love and Lullabies made for us. It is seriously the most gorgeous lovey, and the colors are amazing. I'm obsessed with it and Eden likes it too. I've shared a few images on my instagram but here's the rest!
