Sparks Lake

I take a lot of photos. I put them on my computer, I edit them, and then one or two get posted on Instagram or Facebook. The rest sit untouched in an album on my desktop until my hard drive gets low on space and then I move them to an external hard drive where they are forgotten about for months or years. When I told Drex I was thinking about making writing/posting here more of a priority, he actually surprised me and told me to go for it. He encouraged me to use this place to share all those photos that would otherwise sit untouched in albums. So here I am! Over the next week I'm going to be sharing photos from our Sunriver trip that we took this past weekend!

So earlier this year Drex and I


made the decision to do two trips over the summer. One would be a birthday trip for him, where we went to Seattle, and the other a trip to Central Oregon. This past Thursday we made the three and a half hour drive to Sunriver and then yesterday we came back (which did not go as smoothly as the drive there but hey, life). We were lucky enough to stay at a rental through Bennington Properties. Holly is the sweetest mama to FIVE kiddos and I connected with her through Instagram when I was pregnant with David. Her in laws started Bennington properties in 1998 and now her husband runs it! Unfortunately we didn't get to meet up while we were there, next time! The house we stayed in was absolutely perfect. Two bedrooms, two baths, and within walking distance to the village which was so nice! We were able to walk to dinner every night which was awesome because we spent our days driving to different locations in the area!

Saturday we drove out to Sparks lake. We'd never been before but oh my goodness we will be returning! It was SO pretty. We did the short hike up to the viewpoint (hike is a generous word, more like a walk) and then spent the rest of the day hanging out by the water. We didn't bring swim stuff which was a huge bummer because it was a perfect day to go wading in the water! I already can't wait to go back!
