A case of the Wednesdays

Today Eden woke up an hour early (which admittedly was still after 7 but still) and David ran around the house teasing Poppy with a banana peel and then crying when she grabbed it. Eden's morning nap was a whopping 30 minutes long and David cried when I asked him to put my credit card back on the counter. Poppy dug a hole under our fence and ended up in the neighbors yard and so lovingly tracked mud in and proceeded to give our couch a mud bath (so sweet she is).

Wednesdays here are always harder than Mondays. Maybe it's because I'm prepared for the Monday slump but really I think it's just that when Wednesday rolls around we're tired, we miss daddy, and emotions are running high. Today I drank two cups of coffee, (and had to remind myself one cannot live on coffee alone and eat some real food) counted down the moments until Drex was home, and raised my voice more than I should've. I've been waiting for bedtime all day and yet now that they're both tucked in and asleep I miss them more than ever.

Today Eden crawled around the house, she squealed and laughed as I raised her in my arms. She snuggled with Poppy and cuddled up to me when I took her up for her nap. Always full of smiles that girly.  Today David asked for me to take a picture of all of them, he "fixed" his table with his "strue dryer" (screw driver), he laughed and laughed as Poppy licked his ears, and he peed on the potty. He blew on my soup for me to make sure it wasn't too hot. Today Drex brought home a treadmill (because we ARE running a 5k before the end of this year) and made us dinner.

So often I let the moments where emotions are running high and nothing is going right and everything is chaos, overrule the other moments. The ones where we snuggle and hug, where David asks to sit in my lap and gives me a kiss and tells me he loves me or when Eden just smiles at me with her big gummy grin as I hold her in my arms. I am the luckiest to be their mama.

And lucky for me, Thursdays are almost always better than Wednesdays ;)
