A whirlwind trip to Alaska

Oh hello internet, nice to see you again. Shall I update you on our recent events? Let's do it.

We just back from Alaska yesterday. It went by SO fast. On just about every other trip I've been on, I've been ready to be home by the end of it. Not this one though. I swear it flew by. It was 8 full days and it felt like 3. It was a great trip though and being back with David was fun. He met his great grandparents which meant a lot to me. My childhood is filled with memories hanging out with them so it was so important to me that he was able to meet them.

They loved him (how could you not?) and he was all smiles with them. He also got to meet my best friend's youngest. They're exactly 6 weeks apart (to the day, David's the younger of them) and that was so fun.

We're determined to have them be best friends, that's totally allowed right? We ate lots of good food, took way too many pictures, spent quality time with friends, enjoyed the state fair, returned back to the place where Drex proposed, and all in all really enjoyed ourselves. I came down with a nasty cold the day before we left so the flights were terrible (ears not popping on descent is a special kind of pain. SO painful). We're back now and enjoying the warmer weather (sorry Alaska, this family isn't cut out for 50 degree weather, we'll stick to our high 80s for now). We rocked our first vacation as a family and I'm pretty proud of that!
