Memorial Day

We started our Memorial Day off with David flipping off our bed and hitting his sweet head on the way down. He started bruising immediately which freaked me out. Drex scooped his crying self up and handed him to me, I said something about urgent care and through on clothes, holding a screaming David, trying not to panic before realizing we don't know of any pediatricians in our area, or where the closest urgent care even is, or where the hospital is for goodness sake (making a list today). He wasn't settling so I opted to nurse him to see if that would calm him down, and knowing it'd give me time to well, breathe, and decide if urgent care was a necessity.

Drex called our pediatrician in Corvallis who was awesome (I'm so sad that we won't be seeing them anymore), told us not to worry, told us what to look for, and saved us a trip to urgent care on a holiday which I'm sure would've been insanely busy. David was fine once he calmed down, all smiles, chatty, crawling like nothing had happened. He's got a bruise to show for it (which breaks my mama heart) and I'm trying to remind myself that this is the first of many bumps, bruises, and scrapes. Boys I tell ya. Or maybe kids in general. ;)

The rest of our day went a lot smoother! If there's one thing I LOVE it's a busy full house. I always have. My favorite thing is a house full of people coming and going, talking, laughing, and doing things together. It's a huge reason why I want a big family. I want that all the time and I want my kids to have that too! Drex thinks I'm a little bit crazy (I also love traffic, the idea of all these people going different places, following the same set of rules, totally mesmerizing I tell ya) but he goes along with it. Anyways! We have a house now! Which is so fun and exciting and it means we get to be the ones to have people over! So, we did just that.

My parents+sister, Sister in law+her husband+my niece+ nephew, and then the three of us! It was a full house and so lovely to have all of us under one roof. The guys grilled, the ladies chatted, the babies played, and my heart was happy.
