So one of the best things about the house that we stayed in, was this huge fenced in deck. It was so nice because we could hangout out there and not have to worry about David running off. We were able to just sit and hangout and he was able to play and run around and we were all able to relax! There was a huge table out there with an umbrella which was actually a big perk because Eden's too little to wear sunscreen so it provided necessary shade! It's hard being outside with her and having to find shade so this worked out really well. When we were originally planning this trip I didn't really give the house much thought. I knew we needed two bedrooms and I knew the location I wanted but that was about it! In my head I was just assuming we'd be out of the house all day and so the house itself wasn't really on my mind.
We were definitely gone a decent amount but we actually had a good amount of down time spent at the house and I'm SO glad this house had such a great outdoor space. When you're on vacation you don't want to be cooped up inside all day so just having a place where we could all safely relax and spend time together was really awesome. We didn't bring any toys for David, we mostly forgot but it ended up being really fun to see his imagination come out more and the way that he entertained himself with so little! I often think he needs all these toys but he definitely proved me wrong on this trip! He was so content and happy with very little! Sunriver has a really cute toy store so we did end up buying him one of those animal tubes which he was really excited about it and he just sat at the table and played with them for awhile.
We brought Eden's activity mat out and she was able to just lay and roll around and hangout and it was just so awesome. Looking at these pictures I so badly want to go back! It was just such a great getaway and a break from the business of life and the time that we got to spend as a family unplugged was really cool.
^^^ he's started doing this thing where he sings Happy Birthday and then cuts the cake and gives you a piece. So he's handing me a piece of cake in this picture ;)
