Four months!

Four months! I really can hardly believe it. I think I said that about a million times today. HOW can he already be FOUR months?! I swear you were just born, I swear we were just battling breastfeeding and jaundice. But here we are, four months later. You're wonderful and amazing and perfect. You're a dream come true and I spend every moment loving you.

You've learned to roll this past month, and it's been an adventure ever since. You roll constantly, and you're good at it. Unfortunately you're not a fan of being on your belly, so after you've rolled you get cranky until we move you. Speaking of rolling, you try to sleep on your belly now and it's no fun. We don't let you, which means you end up pressed against me on your side with your arms out and on your face (did I mention you're amazing at breaking out of your swaddles now? You won't calm down and go to sleep without being swaddled but you escape them almost immediately).

You've discovered your toes in the past few weeks and spend lots of time grabbing them. It's adorable and I love it. You have the best little personality and seeing it come out more and more is such a joy. As much as I desperately miss those newborn days, I love seeing you transform and grow. You laugh and giggle now and love when your daddy and I blow raspberries on your belly. Being able to make you laugh is incredible and I want to cry every time I hear it. It's the most magical sound in the world and I will never get tired of hearing it.

You've discovered your voice and you're more demanding of things lately. You let us know when you're not happy (loudly) and you will continue until we've fixed the problem. Usually this is when you're tired of playing on your mat and just want to be held. You think it's hilarious when we sing to you, I don't know how singing puts other babies to sleep, because it just makes you laugh at us.You like the dogs and they like you. Nitro is still weary at first so he starts by licking your feet, then your hands, then your face.

Your hair has started growing back in (you lost just about all of it on the sides) and it's adorable. Your daddy and I love your hair. I think it's going to be light like your daddy's. Your eyes are still very blue and I'm starting to think they might stay that way. Speaking of your daddy, you love him. A lot. When he gets home you're all smiles and you're totally content when he's around. When he takes you in the morning you're perfectly calm (when I take you you're a bit of a grouch, but I've decided this must be that you just can't stand to not be in my arms :P).

You're still exclusively breastfed and you eat ONLY when you're hungry. If I attempt to feed you when you're not, you get a little cranky. ;) The subject of solids has come up (since in two months you'll be officially old enough to have them), but we're planning on holding off until eight or nine months. Food before one is just for fun and we're sticking to that. You're in a bit of a strange sleeping thing right now and we're playing with naps. You've started to fight your sleep more which we're getting used to. You've been up more lately (every three hours, sometimes you go four) which makes for a very tired mama and baby but we're rolling with it. Lots of naps during the day. ;)

You recognize and play with your toys now which is SO fun. Seeing you start to really interact with your surroundings is the best. You love other people and you're always in a good mood when others are around (you're a social little mister). You drool like crazy and want your fingers in your mouth (which in turn means more drool). I'm wondering if you're starting to begin the teething process so we're currently waiting on your amber necklace to get here and crossing our fingers that it helps!

You're the most amazing baby David, and I'm not just saying that because I'm your mama. You make everyone that meets you smile and you light up our little world. You're incredible and fun and we love being your parents. I can't believe you're ours. You're the biggest treasure and watching you grow (and being the one to help you) is the most amazing thing. We love you more than words can express. Being your mama is the greatest thing I've ever done.
