So I did a q+a on instagram stories a bit ago and one of the questions was what my favorite makeup products are! Well, I wanted to elaborate on that a bit and figured a blog post would be the easiest and most efficient way to do that! First of all, I know basically nothing about makeup. I'm not a pro and definitely don't pretend to be. So take everything with a grain of salt. Ha ;)
Okay!
1. My absolute favorite must have is my IT cosmetics bye bye under eye concealer!!
Super embarrassing story but when I went to buy a new concealer (I'd been using drugstore), the sweet employee struggled trying to find one light enough for me. Nothing makes you feel super pale like being too light for multiple concealers ;) summer come faster! But, we ultimately settled on this one and it is my favorite beauty product. Eden finally sleeps 5-6 hours at once but I'm still rocking huge bags and dark circles under my eyes because hi, two kids is exhausting. This erases those and brightens my under eyes so I look rejuvenated and awake! Two really good things ;) it's easy to apply, stays on all day, and does it's job well! Seriously it rocks.
2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
This is my baby. If I could only ever own one palette, it'd be this one. The colors are AMAZING, highly pigmented, and so blendable. The only palettes I used prior to this one were the Naked palettes and this palette blows those out of the water. The colors are just SO pigmented whereas the Naked ones really aren't. So if you're in the market for a new palette go buy this! Something else I really appreciate is that there are tons of tutorials out there when it comes to using it! Makes it so easy to find one you like and to use the palette to its full potential which I think is really important when spending money on a nicer product!
3. Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Tinted Moisturizer (in the shade Ivory)
Ah foundation love. So for years (like from when I started wearing makeup until a month or two ago when I first bought this), I used MAC NC15. It was my baby and I'd never used anything else minus the occasional drugstore cheapie. It's totally silly but NC15 was ME. When I ran out this time, I decided to go a little crazy and branch out. I wanted something a little lighter. My MAC foundation felt heavy and cakey and although I wanted some coverage, I wanted my foundation to feel light and airy. I messaged a friend who always looks like a babe, and asked her if she had any recommendations! She recommend this one and I haven't looked back! It's medium coverage but definitely build able. It doesn't feel heavy and I definitely don't think it appears cakey. I highly highly recommend it.
4. Becca Champagne Pop Highlighter
So this is the first highlighter I ever purchased and I'm so glad it was. It's glowy and leaves my skin looking fresh, not like I coated it in glitter. It's also the perfect shade regardless of skin tone, I'm convinced. I accidentally ordered the cream version first but thankfully Sephora is awesome and I was able to easily trade them out.
5. Last but definitely not least is the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pomade (in the shade soft brown).
I fill in my brows everyday and this stuff is magic. I've tried powder and pencil and this stuff wins by a landslide. It holds up all day, doesn't smear, and isn't too thick (a little goes a long way). The only thing I don't like about it, is that it dries out really fast. The solution I've seen over and over is to just put a drop of beauty oil in there and call it good. I'm cheap and I don't have any beauty oil so I use water (told ya, not a pro). Honestly it works totally fine and water is free so win win.
Other favs that deserve an honorable mention:
The Anastasia Beverly Hills cream contour palette. The reason this isn't in the photo is that it really isn't pretty thanks to how often I use it. Ha. ;) But seriously I use this almost everyday and I really love it. I started with the powder contour palette by them which I did like (and I still sometimes use it to set) but I definitely prefer the look of the cream and personally it's easier for me to use! I'm sure there are less expensive dupes out there so if this guy isn't in your budget, check those out! Also, contouring and highlighting really freaked me out at first. It felt SO intimidating, so if that's you, know it's not as hard as it looks AND youtube is your best friend ;)
And I definitely can't forget Stila Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner. The reason this guy isn't up there with the top favs is that it's expensive and I feel like it runs out pretty quickly. SO it works amazingly and it's my all time favorite eyeliner but because of the $$ unless I'm going out with friends or Drex or I need the waterproof, I typically stick to cheap covergirl. This definitely works the best ever so if it's your budget, you won't regret it at all!
