Looking back 2014

Looking back....
It's New Years Eve! The last day of the most incredible year. I'm sad to this one go, but excited to see what the next one holds for our little family. I wanted to compile 5 of my most favorite moments of this year.

Pregnancy!
I guess this is technically a bunch of separate moments but I'm going with it. I spent 2014 in the second and third trimesters, felt David for the first time, watched my belly move, and just totally loved this experience. I never thought I'd miss it but I so do!

The longest labor+birth
27 hours people. I don't care that that's considered normal when it comes to birth, it's still long. Way too long. My birth journey was so different than what I'd planned for and imagined and yet completely perfect at the same time. I grew so much thanks to my birth experience and I wouldn't change that for the world. I've learned the beauty of birth is present regardless of how a baby enters, whether in an operating room or your bedroom. That as a mama, it's our job to listen to our babies and allow them to come however they need to. David needed an operating room and that's okay. That was part of our journey. When I look at the images of me in that operating room, laying on that table, I see strength, I see courage, I see beauty, I see success, I see birth.

Alaska trip!
I'm so thankful we did this! It felt a little crazy at the time but it was so worth all the exhaustion and chaos. I met my best friend's baby, she met mine, David got to meet his great grandparents, we had family pictures taken, ate at all the restaurants we love, enjoyed the mountains, froze because Alaska in August is COLD, and just really enjoyed our time there!

Our first Christmas season with this babe
You guys, Christmas with a little one is the best. I LOVED this Christmas. I already miss the pretty backdrop a Christmas tree provided ;)

Month one-Month six, I've loved watching this little boy of mine grow.
I can hardly believe he's so big now. Old enough to try real food (though he hates it), sits on his own, babbles, just everything. Watching this little mister of mine grow and start to interact with the world around him is the coolest thing ever and it has truly made 2014 the greatest year yet. I'm so excited to see what 2015 has in store for us.
